North Somerset Council require a principal contractor to deliver refurbishments, and new development works to heritage buildings at the mainland end of Birnbeck Pier in Weston Super Mare. It is intended for the Birnbeck 2A Landward Works to commence in early February 2025. The works in scope are as follows:-

Landward Enabling Works:
- Site setup to include provision of welfare, temporary service connections, renewal of hoarding and site boundary fencing installation.
- Site wide clearance and salvage, protect and record including removal and storage of the Historic Gate Line.
- Repair/reinstatement of sea wall including steel beam replacement.

External Repairs:
- Pier View repairs and refurbishment.
- South Toll House & Shell Shop repair and refurbishment.

Refurbishment:
- Pier Masters Cottage repair and refurbishment.
- Demolition of Pier Cottage existing Northern Extension.

New Development:
- Pier Master’s cottage café extension.
- WC block with bin and cycle store.
- New service connections and landside external lighting.
- Landscaping of landward site.
