Block Contract for Residential Care with Nursing - Urban Kendal

In areas of the County where demand for residential services is high, the Council requires access to a specified number of residential placements in order to meet the statutory needs of local people. Spot purchasing services in these locations has previously led to lack of provision when competing with other purchasers or inflated spot purchase prices. The Council is therefore seeking to procure the required capacity via bulk purchasing (a block contract), thus securing the required service capacity at a price which offers improved value for money. Any block purchase agreement entered into by the Council only relates to the social care element of the placement. Payment of the Funded Nursing Care (FNC) will remain the responsibility of the relevant CCG
Local needs analysis demonstrates that the Council requires the following number of residential with nursing placements within the following area:

Urban Kendal - 5 Physically Frail Beds,
Urban Kendal - 4 EMI Beds,

This tender opportunity is therefore seeking a provider able to supply the required number of residential with nursing beds of the type detailed above
