It is anticipated that the service will be tendered during August 2024 and the new agreement commencing on 1st April 2025.
Introduction:
Dorset Council are currently in the process of redesigning their Integrated Domestic Abuse Service (IDAS). The aim is to recommission the current IDAS service, as well as aligning to current commissioned services supporting people and their children in safe accommodation. The service will aim to provide a wide ranging, flexible service providing:
• Single Point of Contact (24hr helpline and triage into service)
• Community based outreach support (medium risk)
• Diverse safe accommodation-based support for adults and children (including refuge, move on, target hardening and potentially other forms of safe accommodation)
• Specialist housing advice
• Prevention support (through therapeutic and recovery programmes, counselling).
All services will offer practical, financial, and emotional advice and support to any person experiencing domestic abuse aged 16 and over living in Dorset (Dorset Council area), and will support children who are living in safe accommodation. This will include all genders with or without children and those living with or separated from the person causing harm. The service will be available to all people experiencing domestic abuse regardless of geographical location or tenure in the Dorset Council area and will meet the individual needs of any people using it. The service will aim to increase the safety, wellbeing and protection of people experiencing domestic abuse in Dorset, and to prevent harm, escalation of abuse and risk.
Dorset Council are also using this recommissioning opportunity to source additional provision for the Safeguarding Families Together (SFT) model, this however, will be subject to grant funding arrangements.
Note: The service is being procured through Further Competition through the Dorset Care, Support, Housing and Community Safety Framework via Lot 17.
