Description
The Isle of Wight Council (IWC) will shortly be seeking a development partner or consortia for its Dinosaur Isle Museum in Sandown as a part of an ambitious regeneration programme for the Island. This development will be the next evolution of Dinosaur Isle – transforming it into a nationally important visitor attraction while further developing its role as a world-class scientific resource and an important regional educational centre.
We see each element of this vision as creating several distinct possible opportunities for experienced specialist investors, developers, suppliers and operators. Amongst these we are seeking a partner to provide governance to ensure the museum’s continued participation in the museum accreditation standard.
In due course, we intend to run an open competitive process to select a preferred partner (or consortia). We hope to use this process to encourage innovation, flexibility, and collaboration while setting clear parameters and offering useful guidance. To help achieve this we would now like feedback from interested parties on our ideas for the future of the accredited museum and how best to structure the partner selection process.
Interested parties of all types (e.g. developers, operators, suppliers) from all sectors (public, private, voluntary) who may be interested in leading, or playing a major role in a future bid are invited to submit feedback to help shape our proposals. To do so you will need to complete a short questionnaire to be returned to us via this portal by 5pm on Tuesday 31st of October. There is also an opportunity to attend an information event at the museum on Tuesday 17th October 2017 via https://dinosaur-isle-soft-market-test.eventbrite.com .
This is a call for information not for tenders. Participation in this exercise will neither benefit or disadvantage any participant in any future related procurement process or similar opportunity. IWC reserves the right to alter its plans, including postponing or cancelling the proposed project, following this exercise or at any other time.
