Authorised Fire Engineer

<p><strong>Background to the requirement</strong></p>
<p>As directed by Health Technical Memorandum 05-01, Managing healthcare fire safety, KCHFT has a dedicated Fire Safety Group.&nbsp; The group will be led by KCHFT’s Fire Safety Manager with the support of an external authorising fire engineer (AE).&nbsp; The purpose of this agreement is to appoint an AE to assist with policy, attendance at the Fire Safety group meetings as required and ratify the appointment of the Trust’s AP.</p>
<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>Requirement of the Trust</strong></p>
<p>In Scope (based on a 3 year contract):-</p>
<p>Initial high level compliance review to be reported to the first Fire Safety Group meeting within the first 3 months of contract start:-</p>
<p>Current Policies and Procedures and in house training review (desktop review)</p>
<p>PPM shortfalls review (desktop review based at a KCHFT site)</p>
<p>Assurance that the right resources are in place and recommendations if not.</p>
<p>Current levels of compliance systems for Fire safety to include recommendations</p>
<p>Ongoing tasks:-</p>
<ul>
<li>Annual review of 2 fire risk assessments</li>
<li>Annual review of PPMs (based at a KCHFT site) observing contractors and reviewing paperwork</li>
<li>Annual risk-based report on findings above with executive conclusions &amp; recommendations. 1 day preparation and 1 day presenting</li>
<li>Annual review of&nbsp; KCHFT&nbsp; Authorised Persons.</li>
<li>Free to service technical support by telephone and email (detailed document checks and other works requiring attendance over 1 hour to be charged at agreed rate).</li>
<li>Adhoc advice/attendance on specific projects as and when required to be charged at daily rate/half day rate as appropriate</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Attendance at Fire Safety Group (FSG) Meetings</strong></p>
<p>The Trust would require attendance at the FSG Meetings based on the following structure (via Teams):-</p>
<p>Year 1 – Month 3, 6 and 12</p>
<p>Year 2 – Month 6 and 12</p>
<p>Year 3 – Month 6 and 12 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>Contract</strong></p>
<p>The Trust are looking for a supplier to provide a 3 year contract initially with the option to extend by 2 x 12 month tranches.</p>
