School Kitchen Equipment Service & Maintenance Framework

Sheffield City Council (SCC) manages the School Catering Contract, providing school meals and the maintenance of kitchens in 106 schools.

The maintenance and servicing of the catering equipment is currently delivered by an external provider, which is due to expire on the 31st March 2017.

From the 1st April 2017, SCC Contractor Administrator have developed the School Kitchen Equipment Service & Maintenance Framework agreement to continue service delivery, with the requirements packaged into two Lots

Lot 1: Air Handling Units and Ventilation Systems Servicing and Repairs
Lot 2: Kitchen Equipment Servicing and Repairs

The objectives for both lots covered by this framework are:

1) To provide the 106 school kitchens operating within the Contract Administrator’s central catering arrangements with a robust servicing and maintenance programme to ensure all equipment is maintained to its highest level or replaced where necessary.

2) To support the work of the Councils’ chosen contract caterer, ensuring that their objectives can be met.

3) To ensure that the highest standards of Health & Safety are achieved in all sites at all times.

4) To provide a responsive and effective repair service in all sites as required, and which minimises disruption to the Catering Service.

5) To provide advice on kitchen equipment, specifications and layout when required on kitchen upgrades and refurbishments as part of Council Capital Schemes and investment planning.

6) To provide a service which meets the specification of SCC and which is relevant to legislation specific to each Lot.

7) To respond promptly to the needs of individual sites covered by the framework agreement.

8) To ensure respect and consideration for the staff and pupils in all sites visited.

9) To provide a framework which allows for kitchens at other schools and non-school sites to buy into a suitable servicing and repairs programme.
