<p>Wiltshire Council at this stage would be interested in understanding further information about the markets potential capacity for this service</p>
<p>Please note that this advert is not a call for competition and is not part of the procurement process.<br>The Council will not be liable for any costs to any Supplier in participating in this preliminary market engagement.&nbsp;<br>Suppliers not participating in this will not be prejudiced from bidding in any procurement process that follows</p>
<p><br>Wiltshire Council are looking into the options and seeking potential suppliers to deliver the following passenger transport solution in Wiltshire.&nbsp;<br>Interested suppliers should respond via the engagement event via proactis. Any expression's of interests received via this advert will not be processed as part of a formal procurement exercise this is an information notice only.</p>
<p>Following the approval to build a new 400 place campus at Rowde, Wiltshire Council Passenger Transport Unit have been tasked with planning the delivery of the Transport provision to the new site to meet Wiltshire Council’s statutory duty.</p>
<p>Please note, these are approximate numbers for vehicles:&nbsp;</p>
<p>• &nbsp; &nbsp;To hire/lease and go to market to source suppliers for the provision of 19 &nbsp;minibuses, plus 2 spare and 15 Wheelchair Accessible vehicles, plus 2 spare for the transport home to school pick-up needs for Rowde School, part of the Silverwood Campus. SEN Home to School transport is a statutory requirement.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;To award a contract to an operator to provide trained drivers for the minibuses.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;To engage Passenger Assistants to accompany some of our SEN students on the transport from home to school and return. They will be trained to Wiltshire Council standards.<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;This meets a key requirement for passenger transport and statutory provision in Wiltshire.&nbsp;</p>
<p>This opportunity is for the continuation of statutory home to school transport requirements at the Rowde School in Rowde, part of the Silverwood Campus and to address the need for transport for the additional students. The specialist nature of these vehicles in terms of the equipment needed to ensure the safety of individuals with disabilities, brings this requirement into remit of protecting vulnerable people in our community.&nbsp;<br>The main positive impact that this will have on the business is:<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;meeting the needs of vulnerable people in the community<br>• &nbsp; &nbsp;meeting the statutory requirement for home to school transport<br>Consideration also needs to be given that these vehicles could be used to complete other contract work during the down time (9.30am – 1.00pm) and school holidays. &nbsp;This maybe providing services via the CCG, to the acute hospital in Salisbury and therefore generate an income.</p>
<p>1. &nbsp; &nbsp;Minibuses built to specification<br>2. &nbsp; &nbsp;Further Specialist adaptations are required to all vehicles to meet SEN pupil needs, such as tracking, lifts, seatbelt mounting measures, etc.)<br>3. &nbsp; &nbsp;External maintenance of these vehicles. This will require a robust supporting contract with the operator who will be supplying the drivers, to cover Wiltshire Council liabilities and risks for use of the vehicles.&nbsp;<br>4. &nbsp; &nbsp;Operators / Drivers to run these vehicles and associated costs<br>5. &nbsp; &nbsp;Additional passenger assistants to accompany SEN students</p>
