<p>This event will cover two mini-competitions, and will include an opportunity for network to make connections for potential supply chains. </p>
<p>Please note, only providers on the Education, Work and Skills Flexible Procurement System who have been invited to bid for these opportunities as a prime provider will be able to submit bids, but we welcome partnerships and supply chains.</p>
<p><strong><u>Cross sector: Skills for a Carbon Neutral Greater Manchester</u></strong><br /><br />Training under this strand should be adaptable for employees working across a number of sectors, which need to improve their understanding of net-zero. And, as every type of business will be affected by climate change, this understanding is no longer reserved for those solely operating within the green economy. <br /><br />Areas needing additional understanding include carbon literacy and awareness, basic sustainability, carbon pricing and management, supply chain management and energy efficiency.<br /><br />This training package is aimed at individuals in any role, in any sector, and any size of business.</p>
<p><strong><u>CPD for Allied Health Professionals</u></strong><br /><br />We're looking to procure a lead organisation to deliver training at Level 3 and above which will support individuals employed in Allied Health Professional (AHP) roles, such as paramedics, physiotherapists, radiographers and occupational therapists across Greater Manchester.<br /><br />Intelligence gathering through speaking with those in allied health professional roles about delivering care to people affected by cancer highlighted that their roles are not very well defined or recognised.</p>
<p>Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership has outlined a specific education and training programme needed to upskill both generalist and specialist AHPs.<br /><br />Delivery must include the following modules: </p>
<ol>
<li>Understanding cancer and its treatments </li>
<li>Understanding the psychological impact of a cancer diagnosis </li>
<li>Developing personal resilience and communication skills </li>
<li>Supporting people with a cancer diagnosis to live well </li>
<li>Nutrition for living with and beyond cancer </li>
<li>Service improvement skills and how to work effectively with service user representatives</li>
<li>Understanding palliative and end of life care. </li>
<li>Understanding and delivering personalised care interventions for cancer patients</li>
</ol>
