1. Introduction – The Borough of Poole (‘The Council’) is seeking an experienced supplier to organise, run and develop a two or three-day unique event based on the concept of the traditional German Oktoberfest event, in Poole Park West Field on selected dates ranging from Friday to Sunday in October on a three year licence from October 2019 in order to add to the vibrant and diverse programme in the town.
2. Scope – The contract is for two year’s with the option to extend for a further one year. Therefore, if an extension is taken, the full length of the contract would be three years. The contract will start in the year 2019 with the intended dates being 4th, 5th and 6th October.
3. Requirement – The Council is looking for an event that is based around the concept of the traditional German beer festival, which has Bavarian inspired entertainment and themed décor. The commercial offering must be in keeping with the theme and requires food and drink to be German themed along with alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages on offer. Temporary structures are to be used as German beer halls. The visual attractiveness of the offering is critical to the success of the event. The supplier must supply clear direction on the visual look of the offer as part of the submission to create the desired Oktoberfest setting for the festival.
