Update 03/07/2017 – * * * TENDER OPPORTUNITY NOW PUBLISHED. * * * Devon County Council and its partner commissioners are seeking to commission a residential Short Breaks service for disabled children and their families in Devon. The service will be delivered mainly from 4 properties throughout the administrative boundary of Devon County Council The service will support in the delivery of the Children Act (1989); The Breaks of Carers for Disabled Children Regulations (2011); The SEND Code of Practice: - 0-25 years (2014); The National Residential Contract for the placement of Children in Children’s Homes (2012), .
There will be a Tender Launch Event held in Exeter on 6th July 2018 at 10:00 to 12:00.

Devon County Council and its partner commissioners will be seeking to commission a residential Short Breaks service for disabled children and their families in Devon. The Contract Notice for this opportunity will be published shortly alongside the Tender Documentation. The purpose of this notice is to invite potential Bidders to the Tender Launch event for this opportunity.

The Tender Launch Event will be held in Exeter on 6th July 2018 at 10:00 to 12:00.

Devon County Council and it’s commissioning partners can now confirm that the provider engagement event for Short Breaks Services will be held on Thursday the 12th April 2018, at 09.30 until 13.00 in the committee suites at County Hall, Exeter, EX2 4QD. Providers who are interested in attending this event should e-mail jade.torr@devon.gov.uk to book a place.

UPDATE 21/03/2018 - Further to previous communications due to issues with the short notice of the rescheduled event on Friday the 23rd March 2018 a decision has been taken to reschedule the market warming event in relation to residential short breaks. It is intended that the rescheduled event will allow sufficient time for attendees to review documents, plan to attend the event and to allow for the very best input and joint discussion. Therefore the decision has been taken to reschedule to after the Easter Break.

Further details on the new date for the event will follow shortly.

UPDATE 15/03/2018 – Provider Engagement Event further details. Devon County Council and it’s commissioning partners can now confirm that the provider engagement event will be held onTuesday 20th March 2018, at 09.00 until 13.00 in the committee suites at County Hall, Exeter, EX2 4QD. The new Short Breaks service will include elements of services for disabled children, Children’s Homes, Special Schools and Community Services and the commissioners are keen to gain insight around these services. Providers who are interested in attending this event should e-mail jade.torr@devon.gov.uk to book a place.

Please also see attached the draft specification (including the Quality Assurance Framework) for the service and the slides that will be presented on the day which will be the subject of the discussions at the event and inform any questions or feedback.

The commissioners are currently developing their requirements and the purpose for this notification is to give prior notice to the market of their current and future intentions. The service is still in early development and design, as part of the development of the service commissioners will be holding an event in the Exeter area of Devon week commencing 19th March 2018.
