Leaving Care Provision for Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers – Framework Agreement

Introduction

The Authority is actively looking for a Leaving Care placement for the a number of young person.

Specification -The required placement

Note- This section provides details of the needs and intended outcomes relating to a specific child or young person. Any potential provider will be expected to meet these needs. Providers will be assessed for suitability based on their response to the questions located elsewhere in this document.

When completing this specification it should be noted that it may be read by a large number of providers. As a result the information must be specific and relevant to the service request and the provision of unnecessary data should not occur.

Sefton Council is expecting a number of unaccompanied asylum seekers within the next few weeks. To help us manage these placements we would like providers to register their interest on this framework providing their price,type of placement and potential number of beds.

This will be used to provide a direct call off on price and ranking for social workers to use over the festive period and into the New Year.Social workers will approach the organisation ranked 1st initially and a placement will be made if they have capacity. Where capacity isn’t available the Social worker will approach the organisation ranked 2nd on so on until the placement can be fulfilled.

Most of these young people will be aged between 16 – 18years olds, though unverified. They will have limited or in certain circumstances no English and would require translator services.

Unfortuantly due to the nature of the referrals we do not know any more information about these young people.

NOTE: Providers will only be considered if they are existing approved providers on the Leaving Care Framework.
