Market engagement for a support service for disabled Asian women and their carers within the London Borough of Redbridge.

The aim of the service is:
The Service shall focus on support for Disabled Asian Women and their Carers to improve their quality of life and maintain community inclusion.

The objectives of the service are:
• To promote social inclusion through a range of group activities that are community-based to promote independence, well-being and social inclusion moving towards making Service Users more independent and encouraging them to develop their own social networks;
• To provide Outreach Service (home visiting) for Disabled Asian Women and their Carers who find it difficult to access the day services to reduce the feeling of loneliness and isolation experienced by some people with disabilities, by keeping in regular contact with them;
• To provide information, signposting and advice for Disabled Asian Women and their Carers, that promotes their health, well-being, independence and quality of life;
• To provide accessible information both written and web-based for Disabled Asian Women and their Carers, setting out the availability of appropriate services and entitlements;
• To broker access for Disabled Asian Women and their Carers to other relevant services i.e. health, local authority, voluntary sector, other community groups;
• To meet with Service Users for regular support, planning and review sessions and to help them address their needs;
• To encourage and assist Service Users in the take up of employment, volunteering, education and training;
• To engage relevant guest speakers twice a year, to provide information on a variety of topics relevant to the needs of Disabled Asian women and their carers;
• To develop and maintain links with other agencies/organisations in the statutory, voluntary, and community sector;
• To raise awareness across all agencies about the service on offer and to access information for Disabled Asian women and their carers; and
• To promote the service to the wider Asian community.
