Soft Market Testing Questionnaire – Advocacy Services

<p>Bolton Council have undertaken a review of all our advocacy services. We are looking to develop an ‘all-age’ universal approach to advocacy that will provide flexibility and continuity of service for individuals.</p>
<p>Evaluation and analysis from engagement with stakeholders has supported the move to an all-age approach, but also one that innovates and provides advocacy in person centred ways.</p>
<p>Bringing together the two previously commissioned services under a single contract we hope to realise benefits of an all-age service such as:</p>
<ul>
<li>A single point of contact for all advocacy queries/referrals</li>
<li>A clearer pathway and fewer transition points between services</li>
<li>A flexible service – enabling greater scope to move resources within the services at times of increased demand for one type of advocacy provision.</li>
<li>A cost-effective and efficient service</li>
<li>Use of innovative delivery methods to build independence by upskilling and offering different types of advocacy.</li>
<li>Continuity of provision for individuals that reduces the need for them to re tell their story.</li>
<li>Promoting the use of volunteers to improve and support the advocacy offer.</li>
</ul>
<p>Commissioners would like to undertake a soft market test to explore opportunities for the all age approach and to work in partnership with providers to develop new and innovative services in Bolton and are looking for examples of good practice. The commissioners will use the information to appraise options and further develop our offer.</p>
