Contract: Provision of Halton Domestic Abuse Service

Details

Buyer:
Halton Borough Council
Department:
Adult Services
Title:
Provision of Halton Domestic Abuse Service
Description:
Halton Borough Council is committed to tackling the causes of harm, we have a zero tolerance approach to domestic abuse and do everything that we possibly can to prevent, to protect and to provide for those people affected in Halton. We know that domestic abuse has a significant impact on the safety, health and wellbeing of Halton families and communities. We are clear in our approach; ensuring that we are helping adult and child victims to be safe and get their lives back but also that where possible we are robustly tackling the cause of harm as well as aiming to prevent domestic abuse occurring. The Council has led the way and worked with partners to move towards a vision of safer families, relationships and communities as set out our Domestic Abuse strategy. ‘Domestic abuse and sexual violence are issues that can affect anyone regardless of social group, class, age, race, disability, sexuality or lifestyle. Their impact is costly not only to the victim in terms of personal and emotional cost but also to the local economy with increased costs for health services, the criminal justice system, housing, safeguarding and social care and the loss of economic productivity. Domestic abuse and sexual violence are issues that affect children and young people. Ensuring that young people are able to identify abuse and have the knowledge and information available to them to enable them to make and identify healthy relationships in central to raising expectations both in males and females.’ The vision for tackling domestic abuse articulated in the Council’s Corporate Plan is: ‘Everyone is able to live in an environment free from abuse, and where abuse does occur, support is given to individuals and their families and action is taken against perpetrators to prevent any re-occurrence’. Halton Borough Council is proud to offer a real opportunity for an experienced and suitably qualified provider to deliver an integrated, holistic, whole family approach to domestic abuse services for adults, children, young people and families. Halton Borough Council is committed to providing high quality services for our diverse community. We invite only professional, reliable, financially viable providers to help us achieve our vision.
