Description:
The council is now seeking to procure the services of an appropriate specialist contractor to finalise designs and deliver the demolition and remediation in accordance with the relevant regulations. This is a design and build contract to remediate sites at Oldside and the Port of Workington. The legacy of previous land uses needs to be addressed to achieve the output of remediated land (at Tank Farm, Tank Farm B and Oldsite sites, as outlined in the Scope) free of major contaminants and other inhibitors to development. The contract is anticipated to commence on 20/11/25 and will continue for a period of six months unless terminated in accordance with the Conditions of Contract. The terms of the Contract will be the NEC 3 Engineering & Construction Contract, Option A (Fixed Price Contract with Activity Schedule). The estimated total value of the contract over the total contract period (including any extension period) is a maximum value of £2.8m but no guarantee is given as to the actual value of the contract.
