Title:
SomWorks - SASP - 010922 to 311222
Description:
The principle purpose of these contracts are to help young people overcome barriers and develop the personal and employment skills that will support them in moving into, or sustaining, education, employment or training outcomes. This will offer a different and bespoke option for young people Post 16. It will be a stepping stone programme that will provide an alternative range of ongoing transition routes into education, employment or training as and when the young person is ready. The programme will build on the ethos of collaborative partnership delivery that enables bespoke solutions to each young person, building on their strengths and putting them firmly at the centre of their future. The provision provided will be at different education levels to reflect the varied profiles of our NEET young people. Identified Young People and their parent / carer (where applicable) will be introduced to their 1:1 mentor and some basic discussions individually with the young person will take place to agree actions. Young People will identify a key sport they are interested in pursuing and SASP will broker this. SASP will sort the pre work and train the club in restorative practice to enable them to be more likely to successfully integrate the young person into their club and sessions. The SASP mentor will help facilitate this relationship too by providing the young person with pre club readiness, which is often about confidence, sometimes skills and fitness and by accompanying them to sessions. During this time a strong and trusting relationship will be built to allow the young person to identify what they think they need to access further education, training or employment as well as exploring options that might be open to that young person. Over time it is hoped that the young person will continue to access the sports club without the mentor providing a new belonging environment, with new and different friends and other trusted adults to help them as they navigate this period of their lives. Resources • Staffing for mentors • Travel Training for club personnel • Club Kit and sometimes equipment is often needed. Club fees for training and competition • If they choose some leadership qualifications then these will need to be paid for Delivery Brief To deliver Advocacy Support in designated areas of Somerset as Agreed with SomersetWorks. 6 Face to Face referrals on a rolling caseload, based on agreement for support. 4 in the Taunton area and 2 in Sedgemoor or in areas as agreed.
