Details

Buyer:
Torridge District Council
Department:
Property & Procurement
Title:
Removal of asbestos from the roof and part demolition of Torrington Swimming Pool
Description:
Torridge District Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified demolition contractors to be included on a short list to tender. The work comprises the safe removal and disposal of the cement asbestos roofing panels, sprayed limpet asbestos roof insulation lining and the part demolition of the pool hall at Torrington Swimming Pool, Great Torrington EX38 7AJ, pending reconstruction. The following is an outline of work to be undertaken at the premises:- • Removal of roof insulation and roof covering to the pool area, which contain asbestos • Exposing elements of the steel frame to the pool area for inspection purposes • Enabling access for investigation of the pool tank and structural elements of the building • Securing the remaining building pending reconstruction of the pool roof A floor plan of the building is attached. The contract will be issued under the Councils Terms and Conditions and a JCT Minor Works contract. Due to the location of the building adjacent a highway and the extent and difficult location of the material to be safely removed it is anticipated that the successful contractor will be able to demonstrate extensive experience of carrying out similar demolition work. If you wish to express an interest in this contract, you must do so via the Southwest Procurement Portal, at www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk before 12 noon on Tuesday 28th June 2011 Those contractors registering interest will be emailed a link to a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) that must be obtained and returned electronically through www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk by 12 noon on Thursday 30th June 2011 In order to complete the PQQ, it must be downloaded to your system, completed and then uploaded to www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk. It is not possible to complete the PQQ document on-line. Submission of the completed PQQ should not be left to the last minute as it may take some time to upload the document. The server time stamps the documents (GMT) when they are submitted. Any PQQ submitted after the closing date will not be considered. Any PQQ that is posted, emailed or faxed to Torridge DC will only be considered by specific prior agreement. It is expected that the short list to be invited to tender will consist of five contractors. Tenders will be evaluated on a ‘Value for Money’ basis in terms of criteria as stated in the tender documents. Please note that submission of a completed PQQ does not guarantee that you will be given an opportunity to tender. Full information will be given in the invitation to tender, but should you require any further clarification please contact : Andrew Champion BSc(Hons) MRICS.
