Objectives • To identify the Road to Launch phase of the project, highlighting to media and public, the history-making launch coming to Cornwall • To liaise with Virgin Orbit and the UK Space Agency on behalf of Spaceport Cornwall to ensure all comms align across the various organisations • To increase positive exposure of the project across media channels • To highlight the project is ‘of Cornwall’ building aspirations and excitement in the local community • To support ‘Space for Good’ messaging, identifying how satellites and space technology are benefitting life on Earth • Join-up with other partners/stakeholders (Cornwall Council, AeroSpace Cornwall, Cornwall Airport, Cornwall & Isles of Scilly LEP and Goonhilly Earth Station) comms to ensure effective messaging • To be business focussed and drive investment interest to Cornwall • Continue to grow the Spaceport Cornwall profile and brand 3. Specification/Scope of Services The Spaceport Cornwall team will require: •Road to Launch specific Communications Plan •Proactively identify media opportunities that: o Increase positive coverage across local/national and international media outlets o Identify relevant industry titles with editorial opportunities o Drive Interest to Cornwall • Media Management o Management of Spaceport Cornwall’s media list o Plan and execute a Media Day ahead of launch to showcase the site and operations to a select group of media o Identify select media to attend the launch itself •Social Media: o Evaluate Spaceport’s current social media channels and identify areas to improve o Create a social media strategy for the Road to Launch which includes: o Which channels to focus on (ie, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) o Tone of voice for each channel o Recommended #s for Spaceport, Cornwall Space, and other relevant #s o Timetable of dates o Ongoing support for on-line engagement, including managing the Spaceport Cornwall online accounts •Ongoing support: o Drafting press releases, getting quotes from spokespeople, liaising with media to arrange interviews/filming, responding to media requests, crisis comms if required, liaise with partners including Virgin Orbit, UK Space Agency, and Goonhilly Earth Station. o Brand growth: support the growth and profile of the Spaceport brand by effectively using the imagery, logo and brand guidelines . o Support the promotion of the brand merchandise
