Prequalification for Landscape Works

The Council wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced Landscape (works) Contractors who wish to be considered for Pre-Qualification for landscape construction works for 3 years with the option to extend by 1 year giving a maximum duration of 4 years. The type of works awarded through the arrangement will include a range of general hard and soft landscape works, including forestry type planting, and installation of specialist play and sports equipment and associated special surfacings. The agreement will have no defined quantities. Alolocation of works packages will be via mini competition with each project having its own contract. Inclusion via prequalification does not guarantee the allocation of works packages – all projects awarded through the arrangement will be subject to competition and some works may be ‘phased’ due to budgetary requirements or the nature of the individual project. The arrangement is divided into appropriate categories of work, and into three financial bands: · Band A - Up to £30,000 · Band B - £30,000 - £150,000 · Band C - £150,000 - £1m · Band D - £1m + Pre-qualification involves a technical, financial and Health and Safety appraisal as part of the selection process. Technical Summary Individual contracts may include all or some of the following types of work, each contract will involve the landscape contractor acting as Main Contractor for the purpose of complying with the CDM Regulations 2007 where applicable. The framework is divided into ‘lots’ as follows: Lot 1 - Landscape Soft works, trees and shrub planting, including forestry planting Lot 2 - Hard works including drainage, surfacing, special surfaces, walling and fencing Lot 3 - Earthworks and work to contaminated land Lot 4 - Installation of street furniture, specialist play and sports equipment Lot 5 - Specialist drainage works and sports pitch improvements Lot 6 - Aftercare and establishment management Lot 7 - Arboricultural works Currently the scope of works include: construction of all new playgrounds, implement an on-going yearly refurbishment programme of existing playgrounds. General park and open space improvement works, including new/resurfacing of paths, railings, gates and walls. Improvements to lakes and ponds including relining works, platforms, walkways and edge reinstatements. A range of works in school grounds is also undertaken and includes natural play and sports areas. A range of amenity tree and shrub planting work together with specialist planting/habitat creation works. A range of tree management work is also undertaken. Form of Contract All works let as part of the agreement will let under Council conditions and standard forms of contracts such as JCLI, JCT Minor Works or ICE. Response There are projects that will be tendered before the deadline of the PQQ and interested suppliers are encouraged to complete a PQQ in advance of the deadline to be included in these tenders.
