Title:
Trauma and Injury Intelligence Group Data Analysis and Reporting
Description:
1. Through the employment of a data quality officer, TIIG will lead the work with data providers to maintain and where needed improve the quality of data submitted to TIIG. This work to focus on the Information Sharing to Tackle Violence (ISTV) national data specification but also in improving the coding of specific injury groups as per the Emergency Care Data Set (ECDS) national specification. TIIG to identify key staff from each ED and arrange quarterly meetings with ED staff to discuss data quality. TIIG to provide monthly completion rates, data quality reports and feedback to EDs on how the data is being used locally. 2. Provision of cleaned Cheshire and Merseyside ED disaggregated monthly injury data files to local partners. Data will be shared on a monthly basis and backdated accordingly. These data files should be on a local authority resident level for attendances at any North West ED that is part of TIIGs data sharing agreement. The data file will have details of both the local authority of residence and the ED attended. As such both local authority analysis and ED level analysis can be undertaken by local analysts. 3. TIIG to create and maintain distribution lists for local partners who want to access ED data and work with the commissioners to identify local partners who wish to make use of TIIG data. Those local partners will be provided with access to an online secure dropbox where they can access monthly data extracts. 4. Access to aggregated NWAS data. TIIG receive monthly injury data from NWAS and this data to be made available to local partners on request initially with a view to negotiation for record level dataset as per main ED dataset, at least for violence related call outs. 5. Support local partners in injury/violence prevention through bespoke analysis, presentations and data requests. Through the establishment of a steering group with a representative from each local authority, TIIG to work with each area to set areas for bespoke pieces of work. Previous bespoke analysis has included quarterly rolling data summary reports of injuries in children, falls, deliberate self-harm, alcohol related attendances and domestic violence. Reports to include both ED and NWAS data. TIIG to work with the Champs Intelligence lead and steering group to discuss areas of common requests to identify where a single piece of analysis may be appropriate. 6. TIIG to organise and administer quarterly Cheshire and Merseyside stakeholder meetings. Key stakeholders from each local authority to be identified and invited to attend. The purpose of these meetings will be to bring together those who are using TIIG data to discuss the value of the data, potential avenues for improvement, local priorities and future planning. 7. Continue TIIG development. This should include promoting the TIIG data request service to partners. All local partners within Cheshire and Merseyside to have the opportunity to request specific data which will be useful for their work. The parameters and composition of the data can be specifically tailored based on the requirements of local partners. TIIG to produce interactive online mapping for Cheshire and Merseyside using InstantAtlas© interactive mapping software. Ensure reports and associated maps from all Cheshire and Merseyside areas are made available on the TIIG website. 8. TIIG to keep abreast of changing policy and patterns of injury/violence advising at a Cheshire & Merseyside and local authority level as appropriate.
